Historically, SpecsIntact utilized a traditional paragraph numbering scheme. In this system, the numbers within the Title (TTL) tags would often become out of sync with the Subpart (SPT) tags when editing the Section. Essentially, the Subpart number displayed in the SPT tags was considered the accurate number, and the titles would only be renumbered correctly once the Section was processed.

The legacy traditional paragraph numbering has since been replaced by the Automatic Paragraph Numbering, which is now the default and recommended method. Automatic paragraph numbering aims to keep the Section's numbering consistent and accurate throughout the editing process, reducing confusion and discrepancies between Subpart and Title numbers. The traditional paragraph numbering remains supported for backward compatibility.

Although the numeric format for Automatic Paragraph NumberingThis feature automatically generates the Subpart Numbers for Numeric and  Alphanumeric Formatted Sections by placing the correct Subpart Numbers between the Subpart  <SPT> and the Title <TTL> tags.  Unlike Traditional Paragraph Numbering, the number within the Subpart Tag and the auto-generated Title number will always match.  This provides the capability to easily switch numbering schemes regardless of the original setup appears to be the same, it is not.  With this numbering, the Subpart numbers will always appear within the TTL tags along with three spaces and the title.

In summary, traditional paragraph numbering in SpecsIntact was a static numbering scheme where Subpart (SPT) numbers were reliable, but Title (TTL) numbers only synchronized correctly after the Section was processed, making real-time numbering inconsistent during Section editing.
