This command can also be executed from the SpecsIntact Explorer's Right-click menu.

The Export Tailoring Options command produces Web (.htm), Spreadsheet (.xlsx), or Comma-delimitedRefers to the accessibility of a computer system to all people, regardless of disability type or severity of impairment. The term accessibility is most often used to in reference to specialized hardware or software, or a combination of both, designed to enable use of a computer by a person with a disability or impairment (.txt) files containing the Job or Master Tailoring Options.  Exporting the TailoringTagged elements <TAI> </TAI> inserted by the Master Specification writer to indicate specific elements within a specification. These tags allow them to include or exclude requirements based on factors like agency or product. This pre-editing removes irrelevant requirements, simplifying customization for each project Options List to a Web file is intended to provide a form the project team can use to mark the Tailoring Options to exclude from the Job, Master, or SectionA set of files within the Division of a Master or Job that covers specific aspects of construction(s). The various formats can be opened in any Web Browser, spreadsheet application, text application (e.g., Notepad), or emailed to the project team.

The generated file(s) will be available within the SpecsIntact Explorer and located in the Job or Master Exports folder.

Format Options

Create Web File

Creates a Web file that can be opened with any Web browser (e.g.. Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox, etc.) for viewing. It may also be opened with any spreadsheet application for editing if required. The default output file name is TailoringOptionData.htm.

Create Spreadsheet File

Creates a spreadsheet file that can be opened with any spreadsheet application. The default output file name is TailoringOptionData.xlsx.

Comma-Delimited Text File

This file contains the Job or Master's Tailoring Options data in comma-delimited format. The default output file name is TailoringOptionData.txt and can be opened with Notepad or Microsoft Excel.

Illustration Icon Indicating Important Information To NoteSingle or multiple files can be exported within the same session.  After processing, the exported files will be available within the SpecsIntact Explorer and located in the Job or Master Exported Files folder.

Color for Web and Spreadsheet File

The default color option is 'no color' though three additional color options are available for customization:

File Name

The default TailoringOptionsData file name is automatically generated based on the Job or Master name but can be customized in the provided text field. Microsoft Windows reserved characters to avoid when naming files or folders are the left and right angle brackets, colon, quotation, forward and back slash, pipe symbol, question mark, and asterisks as indicated here:  < > : " / \ | ? *

Folder Name

By default, the Exported Tailoring Options List will be saved to the Job or Masters Exports folder.  Click the Change button if you'd like to save the Exported Tailoring Options List to a different location.

E-mail Options

When selected, this feature will create a new e-mail message and attach the selected file(s) to easily send to your team members or customers.

Illustration Icon Indicating Important Information To NoteThis feature supports MAPI e-mail clients, like Microsoft Outlook or Mozilla Thunderbird.  Web-based e-mail clients that use POP3 and IMAP like Gmail, Yahoo, etc. are not supported.

How To Use This Feature

  1. In the SpecsIntact Explorer, select the desired Job or Master, and then perform one of the following:  
    1. Right-click and select Export Tailoring Options
    2. Select the Process menu and select Export Tailoring Options
  2. In the Export Tailoring Options window, below Format Options, select the desired output option(s) (e.g., web, spreadsheet, comma-delimited, or a combination)
  3. Select the applicable color option (these options are optional)
  4. Click OK
  5. In the confirmation window, click OK

    1. Right-click and select Export Tailoring Options

  2. In the Export Tailoring Options window, below Format Options, select the desired output option(s) (e.g., web, spreadsheet, comma-delimited, or a combination)
  3. Select the applicable color option (these options are optional)
  4. Below E-mail Options, select Attach exported files to e-mail message when finished
  5. Click OK
  6. In the confirmation window, click OK
  7. When the e-mail message opens, add recipient(s) and a message
  8. Click Send
